One evening, I opened my closet to find printed inspirational quotes on letter paper taped to the back of the closet door. My husband just wanted to lift me up that day and share motivational quotes with me (Awww...). It's these little things that he does that makes our marriage great. I love that he can cook up little surprises here and there.

The other week, someone shared this post from She is More on my Facebook news feed about The Husband List: 12 Non-Negotiables. I like this post very much, and I feel that it should be a guide for all single women out there. Marriage, in God's eyes, is a once-in-a-lifetime decision. It's important that it should be made with God's grace and utmost care.
Kristen Wolfe said in her blog, "No person will be perfect and grace is a beautiful thing that makes relationships flourish. That being said, this list for single ladies is to give a basic framework of character traits to look for or recognize whether or not there is desire for growth. Of course, use common sense when someone amazing walks in to your life but wasn’t exactly what you dreamed up. God surprises us, but always gives us what we need."
I can attest to this. Before I met my husband, I also did my ideal husband list and prayed for God to lead him to me. God did deliver, and He checked off everything in my list. Yet in all things here in this worldly life, everything changes. It doesn't mean that once God has brought you two together, it will all be happily ever after from there.
In most times, my husband and I are opposites. The first year of our marriage was more down than up. We struggled with adjusting to each other, It was difficult for us to align our goals. Our lives were not centered on serving each other.
It was not until we completely surrendered all to God that everything fell into place. God's grace turned our messy marriage around. He gave our marriage direction, and He inspired us to realize that challenges and temptations will always fall upon us, yet staying strong in God's love will always pull us through.

As a new homeowner, I can definitely say that decorating a home is not an easy task! I know the type of home that we like (we like modern), but putting together the elements can be quite challenging. It's one thing to design your space, another to source your materials and furniture, and yet another to find the budget for it (This is probably the most challenging. Haha!). I now realize that designing our dream home will be a long project that will probably take years. It doesn't also help that I have zero designing skills. God willing, I hope that I will be able to transform our home into a lovely one.
One day, when my brother and his family came to visit us, he introduced me to this lovely iPad app called the Homestyler by Autodesk Inc. It's an app that helps you design your home easily by just clicking and dragging the elements you like into the current picture of your home space. Great, huh? For someone with poor visualization skills for home design, this is a Godsend.
First you take a picture of the space you want to design. My apologies for the very empty space below. We just moved into our new home 2 months ago and since we want to save up for the furniture that we truly like, we are currently working with hand-me-down furniture.
See the menu that they have above the pic? This is where you are able to work your magic. Open the Catalog menu and you will see hundreds of photos of products that you can easily drag and drop into your original picture.
Ta-da! Ang ganda na ng living room namin!
Of course, the app is not entirely perfect as you can only work with the pieces that they have uploaded. Yet at least being able to do this home designing thing easily is quite a feat for me! It also helps me in communicating with my dear husband about my plans for the house.
Do you have tips for home design? Please share! (I badly need it.)
